Have you ever surfed around the web and landed on a web site that does not support Internet Explorer? Have you ever wondered why? Being that it's the most used browser in the world, you'd think that the person running the website would want these people to be able to see the site. I recently landed on such a page, found that it was of course pushing it's own choice of browser...which as actually any browser other than IE.
Internet Explorer Users
Because you are using Internet Explorer you are blocked from using our in-house player with videos from Asian host sites (this their policy not ours). Therefore, if you insist on using Internet Explorer to view videos on TV Shack then you will have to go to the host site direct by using the link below.
If you were using FireFox or some other browser you would of course have none of these problems. Your choice!
Now, let's think back. Do you remember Microsoft catching a lot of crap world wide because they try to force everyone to use their stuff over the competition? Now the same people who hate that are doing it to the consumer again. The same ones complaining about Microsoft are the same ones doing what they do. But I suppose it's ok because their message is golden. Use Firefox because IE sucks. That's the basic message. Use any browser because IE sucks. Without getting into a rant about why Firefox is not my choice at all, I do believe these people are not doing any favors to anyone by doing this. In general, when I run into a site doing this, I get irritated and go to another site that will accept my browser. There are also plenty of users out there who don't know how to install another browser (despite how simple it is) due to their ignorance of how any of this works. They don't know, so they think something else is wrong. Personally, I don't plan on chopping out huge sections of visitors simply because they don't use my personal browser favorite (which is
Opera, by the way). That's just stupid, from any stand point. The purpose of having a public web site is to allow as many visitors as possible, not to force them to your will simply because you don't like Microsoft.
Sidebreak is visible in IE, Firefox, and Opera and can be viewed in a variety of other browsers as well.
